The return of inter-county action threw up a plethora of outstanding performances across the weekend making it a competitive team of the week.
There were more records broken among the Dublin team as Stephen Cluxton became their longest-serving player and Dean Rock became the county’s top-scorer.
Thankfully, there was a host of attacking football on display despite the Autumn setting. Oisin Mullin’s driving runs for Mayo were particularly eye-catching. Likewise with Meath’s Donal Keogan who caused the Dublin defence problems.
Many players would have taken advantage of the lockdown to practice their shooting. Johnny Heslin was no doubt one of these as he scored effortlessly off both feet against Laois. Meanwhile, Jimmy Hyland almost emulated his U20 Final record with 0-9 against Cavan. Here is our pick for the team of the week.
- Stephen Cluxton (Dublin)
- Cian Kiely (Cork)
- Oisin Mullin (Mayo)
- Sean Mullooly (Roscommon)
- Paddy Durcan (Mayo)
- Donal Keogan (Meath)
