Tennis is by far my favorite sport, and I have been looking for a way to get the best app for all the scores, rankings, and news with a simple swipe of my finger. It’s not always easy to keep up with everything new in tennis thanks to my busy lifestyle, so I wanted to find a way to follow tennis tournaments that are heading my way, as well as events like the US Open, WTA, Indian Wells, and ATP.
In the process of scouring the internet, I came across a website called AppGrooves. There, I found a list of the top 10 best apps for following tennis (I’ll link it below for your own use). I began to investigate, and sure enough, there are actually really great apps for keeping up with tennis. All I have to do is check my phone and voila – everything is there! I decided that I’d create my own small review below, giving you all of the most important details in a more efficient format so you won’t have to go digging through apps like I did.
Best 10 Tennis Apps by AppGrooves
Tennis 24 – Rating: 4.6, Downloads: 100K
You can find tennis scores, highlights, and statistics from tennis matches around the world with Tennis 24. I would recommend this to anyone who really loves tennis and wants a good overview of what’s been happening in their favorite sport. You’re able to access 2,000 tournaments with precise, live information on various matches, so you’ll never be left wondering what you might have missed. Plus, you can set up custom alerts so whenever something important happens in a match, you will know right away.
Keep in mind that if you are looking for an app that is visually stunning, Tennis 24 may not be exactly what you’re looking for. However, it does have amazing live coverage and in-depth information on every aspect of the sport, so I really doubt you’ll be distracted by its overall appearance.
Pros: Coverage of 2,000 tournaments, an excellent resource for a general tennis overview, customizable alerts.
Cons: Not the most beautiful layout.
Overall: A good resource for keeping up with tennis as long as you don’t mind the underwhelming appearance.
Live Tennis Rankings – Rating: 4.8, Downloads: 10K
With Live Tennis Rankings, just as the name suggests, you can get live tennis scores and tennis rankings whenever you want, including in-depth information about various players! You can find a schedule of players and their games for the next four weeks, so you know exactly who is playing and when. Not to mention, the user-friendly design makes it easy to navigate through the app and discover projections for the upcoming weeks’ rankings. If you have a particular player or game you are looking forward to, you can even bookmark and save them to see updates about progress and scores.
If you are looking for a tennis app specifically to access live tennis scores, you’ll enjoy Live Tennis Rankings because of their extensive amount of information available! Just be aware that some users have found that the app occasionally takes a little time to load the new scores. This doesn’t affect the app’s ability to function; you just have to wait a couple of extra seconds for everything to fully load.
Pros: Live scores and player updates. You can see game assignments up to a month in advance.
Cons: Can sometimes take a while to load.
Overall: Great for finding out about players and when games are scheduled, but it may take a little while to load on occasion.
Tennis TV – Rating: 4.5, Downloads: 100K
What’s great about Tennis TV is that it has a clean and intuitive design that provides live tennis scores and highlights in one place. You can find replays of any match you want and watch them at your convenience. You’ll also discover lots of videos and facts from Tennis TV to keep you in-the-know about your favorite sport. Plus, you’re able to watch replays of classic matches from an archive with famous players like Federer and Nadal. If you want additional content, you can pay for a subscription that gives you access to tons of extras, including bonus footage. If that’s not what you’re into, you can still watch plenty of free videos and get statistics on your favorite games and players!
Something to be aware of: some users have found that, although you can watch videos on your phone, you are unable to stream live tennis matches to a television. That being said, the app does allow you to watch tennis anywhere you go, so as long as you’re fine with watching from your mobile device, you’ll have no problems.
Pros: Live tennis coverage you can watch on your mobile device, game facts, and highlight clips.
Cons: The inability to stream directly to a television.
Overall: You can catch all of the live tennis coverage you could possibly want, you are just limited to watching on your mobile device only.
